From all of the literature produced throughout history, some consider the Victorian Era to be the best. This Era included the reign of England by Queen Victoria which lasted from 1837 until 1901 and left its mark on history not only in the form of literature, but also in science and architecture as well. But for the literature, it was this period of time that was considered to be the root of some of the world’s most romantic writings still read today.

It is important to take a good look into the Victorian Era writers, not only the men, but the women as well at this period of time saw many of the world’s greatest female writers. The novels produced during this era were considered to be the largest form of literature available in English, overwhelming the various newspapers and magazines available at the time.

Of the Victorian Era novelists, the most prominent and significant female novelists include such names as the Brontë sisters, Elizabeth Barret Browning, Christina Rossetti as well as Elizabeth Gaskell. Each novelist in their own right made a dramatic impact on the conception of English Literature.
