A dynasty is the succession of rulers that retain political power and dominance. The Roman Empire was founded in 753 b.c. and firstly ruled by Kings, then in 500 b.c as a Republic with annually elected officials. Sovereignty of Rome was passed on from Emperor to Emperor from 27 B.C to 476. These periods are divided and referred to as the Dynasties of Rome
